Living Forever

You couldn't die until every other human being died. Or you would die, right now, and have no heaven/hell/next life/whatever.

in someones 100 (aproximate) years they start to get lonly by the end in a thousand years you will be the lonliest man or woman in 10,000 years you may experiance the destruction of earth and our solar system stuck alone for years before drifting to another planit and billions upon billions untill you descover a place where you could live. does that sound like fun. plus if i died y would i care im dead.

Dude, the description says "You couldn't die until every other human being died." So you'd eventually die after everyone else, the universe doesn't have to end for everyone to end. Which I guess is a bit confusing.

An average child does not have any "real" problems in life. No mental illness, physical scars or anything (usually). A young grown up usually gets depressed sometime from being a teenager until the young adult life. Cancer often affects those older than 50 (does not necessarily kill them, but causes a lot of pain). When you get to age 90, you have Alzheimer, Parkinson, cancer etc., and this stacks on and on. If you would reach age 300, you could suffer from serious mental illnesses. You could not be able to even think logically, just scream and run around in fear. What might also happen is that you would live to be 100.000 years old without ever being affected by anything, but then there are dead loved ones...hundreds of them... No one can live a life without interacting and caring for other human beings and it would hurt every time when someone died. At the end, you would probably end up so scared of even talking to someone, that you would likely be alone for hundreds of thousands of years in misery. Humans have a rover on Mars, but in the next hundred years or so, we will colonize Mars, therefor starting the age of space colonization and travelling. The human race will probably survive for millions of years. And you will end up alone and deserted in fear of losing those that you love. I would sacrifice 100-10.000 years of awesome life full of new discoveries, inventions and knowledge for a quick death rather than experiencing millions of years of misery, sorrow and sadness.

You could just maybe, I dunno, be out onto a robot body of a youth when they are created and go back to school and make new friends? Once done, get a new body and repeat. Infinite amounts of new people and ideas to experience. I wouldn't be lonely or depressed. People have died in my lifetime, yet I still push forward.

Both senarios involve forever , expect in one you are conscious of it. Think about when you have had all the fun that could ever be had and you just have to do nothing for eternity, think when our sun implodes and you are left floating through space alone forever...

It really depends on your condition in living forever. I assume eternal youth, but if you age continuously it would just suck.

Not only that, if we're talking about forever then eventually you may have to venture out into space and if something went wrong and you got sucked into space without the ability to die, you would just drift around for millions of years. That would be hell.

No afterlife=No poverty, no depression, no hate, no feelings what-so-ever. I'd rather not feel anything than watch as everyone I know and love dies while I continue on endlessly until finally the sun supernovas and kills us all.

^^ good point. But people get over things like death, it may take a long time but they'll get over it. And if they really loved you, surely they'd rather watch you die once than have you constantly watching loved ones die as you carry on your trek through time? Just my 2¢

I have an immense fear of there being no afterlife, hell would be preferable to an eternal nothingness and darkness, alone forever, unaware I'm even dead, not even my thoughts or memories to comfort me. That is fucking SCARY shit, that makes me SICK thinking about it. Fuck. That. Live forever it is. Theres also many advantages to this.

@ Saint Magnus The more I have learned about life and it's riches leaves me to a better understanding of death. While I don't believe that it is possible for consciousness to die, I find death necessary and comforting no matter what belief system you are under, Atheism, to Islam. Death is natural and mysterious. Those you love will die, but with understanding and knowledge (which is infinite if you live that long) comes peace and happiness. To be able to understand why people go, be at peace and welcome new life would probably make you one of the strongest human beings on the planet.

While die right now is great, I have people who rely on me, and being immortal (and i assume indestructible) would be very useful to society. for instance we could shoot me at mars out of a rocket and after the crash landing there I could set up the first base and explore. further more I will be able to talk with thousands of years of experience and knowledge.

There was a Greek story about a man who made a deal with death to 'live forever'. However he didnt wish for eternal youth so a few hundred years later he was a mangled old man begging for death in the most excruciating pain possible. But id still want to see if the invent flying cars and they should have some sort of support for my aging conditions.
