Waterboarding is a form of torture in which water is poured over the face of an immobilized captive, thus causing the individual to experience the sensation of drowning. Waterboarding can cause extreme pain, dry drowning, damage to lungs, brain damage from oxygen deprivation, other physical injuries including broken bones due to struggling against restraints, lasting psychological damage and DEATH. Adverse physical consequences can manifest themselves months after the event, while psychological effects can last for years.

Thing is, you go so insane that you die. It takes far more time and is psychologically more distressing than electrocution. Besides, I personally think being shocked is fun!

They put a cloth over your head and pour water on it, while you're lying down, which gives you the feeling of drowning

Being waterboarded to DEATH would mean being drowned longer than actually just drowning already takes.

Electrocuted means to die of electricity as it is, no need to add "to death"

You can be electrocuted without dying

@nolandovaldez By dictionary definition, it's to kill/ be killed by. Execute is another word with the root. I should know. I do electronics for a hobby, and plan to major in it.

Saying "electrocuted to death" is redundant because being electrocuted implies death, if you survive you we're only electrified

Waterboarding is never lethal, and electrocution always is. Electrocution was coined from electricity + electrocution. Electrocution by definition leads to death. You can be shocked and not die, but electrocution by definition kills you.

Waterboarding simulates drowning. I'm not sure if it can kill you, but if you do get "waterboarded to death", you just call that "drowning".

Technically not, it disrupts the signals in your heart, making it beat irregularly, if at all, and this irregularity shuts off your brain, i.e. killing you. I wonder how much current the electric chair delivers. At least a few amps, I'm sure.

  • 0

Yeah it's impossible to be killed by waterboarding. It's a psychological torture.

So by physically putting a cloth over your head and dumping water over it to simulate drowning, it's just psychological torture?
