People that choose "try to escape" have no sense of reality! Do you really think that a boat could cross the ocean, fight huge waves, and that you would have enough food and energy to make your boat move for days? If you stay there you have food, water (boil by cutting down a couple of trees), and can find shelter. On a boat you could get more lost and will have a limited amount of food, no shelter from a storm or extreme heat and will be a mere speck going no way in particular.
