The Dark Knight has one of the tightest (not the slang) scripts in the history of film. Where as Batman is a mediocre superhero film, that is only respected because it inspired other superhero films to be made.

Actually Heath Ledger created his Joker on the comic The Killing Joke considered by many to be the best comic as far as portraying the Joker goes and he performed is extremely well

I think they are both great movies . I have seen them both many times.But i would have to say the dark knight is better because technology of 2008 is no comparison to 1989. I also think its endlessly stupid how most people have no clue about the fact that " The Dark Knight" is not the first in the series. O and if any of you say heath ledger is anything but incredible... He won an oscar for his performance.
