*Picard Facepalm* Phasers can be used by anyone.Phasers can be mounted on vehicles and ships. And they can be aimed. I can also put them on spread. I can put them in my doorways and vaporize those without the password. Phasers have multiple functions. A light saber must be wielded in hand with Jedi power. Practically useless to the average man.

You don't need the force to use a sabre. (for those who have only seen the movies,,, think of general grievous) so, as a light sabre is read heavy you are more likely to remove your own head than damage a target,,,,,plus weild this and you'd be shot by the police. Phasers are damage controllable, set it to a low level and "taze" a bad guy or set it to top level and melt your way into fort nox. you decide.
