@James Dude, I saw that episode. Though the stomach did not explode, it expanded so much to the point that it would push other organs out of the way! You would have passed out unconscious from the reaction. Now I know nothing about baking soda and vinegar, but I chose that because I knew about the other.

@James Even though their test turned up nothing, they still had a real story where it happened. So they couldn't discount it completely.

Mentos. The effect doesn't happen in the stomach. The acids cancel out the reaction from the mentos.

Mythbusters tested what would happen, the reaction happens because the mentos make the undisturbed CO2 bubbles release, pouring it down your throat makes it lose the potential, nothing would happen

Well since it said eat, I'm assuming the mentos/baking soda is no longer in my mouth when I chug the coke/vinegar...so nothing would happen, if you chose the baking soda and vinegar because the reaction is not as large as the other, you would have that terrible taste in your mouth for pretty much no reason at all.

If you wash the mentos with waters to the point where they smooth over, no reaction will occur with the diet coke.

Your stomach acid would dissolve the surface of the mentos almost instantaneously and if you've done the research, you know that the surface is what causes the reaction.
