I can say from personal experience that being unimaginably tired and being physically incapable of sleep is torture. Literally. Falling asleep randomly is just an excuse to hire a chauffeur.

Already have it. And I don't know what narcolepsy is.

Even though narcolepsy is highly inconvenient, would limit my job options, and would keep me from ever driving again, Insomnia sucks way worse. I've battled with this problem for 10 years and would do anything to get rid of it. Changes in body chemistry from lack of sleep create mental and physical problems beyond anything that narcolepsy could create. I've never heard of anyone attempting suicide or murder because of narcolepsy.

I have insomnia, and when all you want to do is sleep but no matter what you can't it is pure torture!

I think the ability to not sleep is torture (I agree) so I would make sure I am in safe situations where I can sleep (like no driving even though I don't anyway)

I already have it, and personally I'd rather stay awake than fall asleep at random times and risk being rude to people.
