Those close to you would not disappear, but you would not remember anything about them. You can rebuild with time, but you will not get lost memories back.

forget myself and start over with everyone i know or forget everyone i know and meet new people. hello new people!

I would get to listen to everyone telling me about myself, and I would have the power to change if people didn't like me. If I am disliked by people already, no one would feel bad for me if I forgot who they were, and they would ignore me. So I wouldn't have a life.

People are who they are largely because of who has influenced their lives; forgetting those people would mean you'd likely end up a much different person if you had to start over. At least if you still had those people in your life, they could help you regain a sense of who you really were.
