Denim is easily customizable. You can alter the color, pattern, decor, etc. without it looking stupid and mismatched. Plus I seriously live in jeans. Couldn't give that shit up.

I like plaid, but it clashes horribly with plaid. You can get comfortable denim, and it's in darker, lighter shades so its almost like proper clothing whereas flannel is gonna make you look like a twerp.
