Hey c'mon, there's nothing better than books! You can do without songs, but I can't imagine not being able to read another book.

In all honesty, this question comes at a time where reading is not as popular as music, hence we have these idiots who think that reading means you have a boring life, this is a rather stupid comment. Apparently, literacy is not highly valued as it should be.

Nathan, Tom and Jush(?) are people that don't realize the importance of books even today. I read a lot, and sometimes over-whelm myself but you know, I GET SOMETHING OUT OF IT, rather than have possibly really loud music destroying my ear drums or filling my head with pointless lyrics. All books work your mind in both the left and right hemispheres. I love music with so much passion, but maybe that will push me to find art in another form.

These are the two best things in life... Reading books means gaining perspective, understanding and knowledge. And joke's on those who don't because we all know those things equal power. But in the end, music is more important. One could also get pedantic and argue that you can read plenty of good literature without reading "books", but I don't think that's how the question was intended.

By the way, music is a lot more complex than reading when you make it, or when you analyze the structure, details, etc. of songs like I do.

Just because you're too lazy to look for good music doesn't mean it isn't there. Nobody's allowed to call any period of music entirely shit because there never was a period of entirely bad music and there never will be. There is always good and bad music.

Everything about what you said is extremely wrong. I feel sorry for you. I'm not hating on books, I love books, but they do not accomplish everything that music does, nor does music accomplish everything that books do.

    • 1

      Jush Heisenberg

Listen to the album Merzbox by Merzbow. Then say that a book can cause the sensations that one gets from listening to the songs in that. And music can enhance your brain a lot if you actually analyze how it's structured and what creates it instead of just listening to the foreground while you preoccupy yourself with other activities.

People has spoken, books are not as important as music, check the numbers above. Sorry for the book lovers. Music is part of the soul, it exist from the beginning of the human being, even animals make songs (like birds chirping) and movies like Social Network had an amazing soundtrack! Trent Reznor managed to put the feelings on it, and is not the best example i can comeup now.

To never be able to hear such music again would be soul crushing. To never be able to listen to Beethoven, Michael Jackson or any of the millions of amazing artists out there. I love books. I love being educated by them and I love being engrossed in a story. But music you can share with others and enjoy by yourself while books are personal. Unless your in a book club discussing it which doesn't even compare to jamming out with friends. Besides the are audio books and the are teachers and videos.

Books can be adapted into different forms of entertainment, songs on the other hand are useless without music. Reading lyrics is nowhere near as rewarding and as much of an impact as hearing the song.
