If you knew you just died, you would not know how to react to still being alive and wouldn't be able to piece together what just happened. Plus it's instant. I wouldn't want my trachea to shatter and then hang by my neck because the rope wasn't long enough.

Ethan, guillotine is NOT INSTANT, you brain is still alive for a few seconds after you head is removed. It never says you have to die, if hung by a noose it could get cut before you suffocate (if your neck didn't break) and just have a bruise for a while

I wouldn't want to rot in the ground as a corpse. Ever heard of cremation? If you're a spiritual person then why would you want to have your body rot and possibly your soul partly attached to the remaining pieces, remember it's not the same as decomposing naturally. If you're a practical person then why would you want to waste land space with more dead bodies. It made sense when the population wasn't in the billions, but now our population is increasing in acceleration of growth. There's a lot of old habits we need to improve on, in this planet.

If the rope is too long when being hung you can be decapitated. If the rope is too short asphyxiation can take 45 minutes to kill you.

You don't actually live anymore after you are decapitated. There are just basic reflexes that will still be executed for a short while after your death. Meaning if your head is held towards the sun after he is cut off you'll still close the eyes. Anyway... I really wouldn't want to shit my pants in the moment I die (this is actually true).

Guys, fun fact, your head lives for 30 seconds once it is removed. You can still see and feel pain. Whilst being hanged by a noose will result in you having a stroke and near instantaneous death.

Bulll Shittt, if you even knew ANYTHING about being hung, they have a special piece of metal near your chin, the second you are dropped, you fall down, this piece of metal pushes up against your chin rapidly, breaking your neck and brain stem, which results in you dying. You're not sitting there for hours, that's what an idiot who doesn't know anything says. Learn before typing.

Some people will, some won't (immediately). It is not the type of death that causes it. It depends on how your body reacts to a sudden lack of input, whether it releases the sphincters or not.

Only as long as they don't miss with the guillotine (yes that happened and the blade just got stuck in the back of the skull) and the blade has been sharpened and cleaned before hand (too much blood or a blunt blade makes the guillotine need multiple tries to cut off a head, also if the "victims" hair gets in the way...).
