Yes, you would be blind, therefore your eyes would be left useless, so why having them? If you replace your ONE eye, you will still have one working eye and therefore can see. two not-working eyes < one working eye

You're not guaranteed to be blind for looking at the sun for 5 seconds. But there are many ways to cure partial blindness and there are a few ways to cure full blindness as well. So it's an easy decision imo.

TheHawkEye the definition of stare is "Look fixedly or vacantly at someone or something with one's eyes wide open." Eyes not eye.

A glass eye would be an awesome thing to show off at parties!

Actually, you wouldn't go blind. It takes about 7 hours at the minimum in the dark and THEN look at the sun for five seconds to seriously damage your retinas. Isaac Newton tried it and kept his sight, and so did Thomas Edison, though he had to look at a light bulb as an experiment to prove that the original lightbulb wouldn't make someone go blind.

Hey, if it turns out you get blind from staring at the sun for 5 seconds there is an option.. SOLUTION: GLASS EYE =)

You would definitely go blind, but in both eyes. That means the question is, 2 glass eyes? or one glass eye, one working eye?

    • 6

      MarkTheGr8

First: Staring at the sun for 5 seconds is not guaranteed to blind you. Eye damage? Sure. So it's definitely partial blindness. Second: Partial blindness is not the biggest challenge to cure. Third: Stem Cells cure full blindness. It's called stem cell contact lenses, and it happens in about a month. So I'll stick to my decision tyvm. While I'm at it, I may even get a glass eye anyway, just for the fun of it, so I can buy a pipe and poke it in my "eye" to scare people. YOLO.

I have a weird reaction where I sneeze when going into a place that is more bright than the one I just exited. I'd get outside, look at the sun for a second or two, take 10 seconds sneezing, look for a second or two again, sneeze, and glance one last time. After that, I'd continue on my way, just like I always do when I have these sneezing fits.

They didn't say I had to open both eyes. Worst case is that I still get the "glass eye" option. If that happens, I'd just take part in bionic eye trials.
