MAC is fine, I've used them all my life. They're great, and receive WAY too much inaccurate hate all of the time. Microsoft and MAC are both really good, just think about what is better for you.

I hate it when stupid people on the internet always give so much false facts and generate hate. MACs are great. They are fantastic for the user and do what they need to for the average home computer user. Linux, Windows and MAC all have their flaws, so you really just have to choose what suits you best. The stupid people are the ones who think that think your computer determines your intelligence. It's like saying blondes are dumb because they're blonde. People choose their computers based on their personal needs.

Actually, they don't. The key thing here is, is it good FOR YOU? MACs are fantastic for me, they are the best I could go for, whereas a Windows is better for another user, perhaps a more avid gamer. It depends on what you categories you are looking for, and the user.

One word: Virtualbox. You can vitrualize ALL OSes on a Mac, but you can't run Mac OS on Windows, so I have to go with Mac. Also, for the record, I prefer Linux :)

Actually, you can most certainly virtualize OSX on Windows. I've done it a few times with VMware Workstation. Macs are x86 PCs just like Windows boxes. There are no real technical differences between them.

See, the thing is, the boxes say "Mac" and "WINDOWS PC". Mac is a computer, while Windows is an operating system. Per this question, I chose mac because I would be able to use my Ubuntu on a mac computer, as the other choice being the Windows OS, and not a non-Macintosh computer

You don't need a Mac to install Ubuntu onto it. I installed Ubunto onto my former Windows PC and it worked just fine. I have a friend who's installed Ubunto onto a few of his former Windows PC's and they all work just fine.

However Alejandro, like lchbinartz said, Windows is an OS whereas mac is a computer. So you'd have to stick with Windows. But if you choose mac, since it's a computer and not an OS, you can use bootcamp or whatever :)

That argument is irrelevant to me, I always think about what is better for the user. For me, it's MAC, and or others, it's not. Unless you have a really big MAC desktop, which costs a shitload, so yeah, you're right. However, I prefer editing stuff seeing as I want to be a filmmaker and I've found the best programs on a MAC really. Just a preference thing.

^Air Time, the problem isn't the mac hardware, it's the fact that there are very few 'game' games for the mac; I'd say only about 10% of AAA games are released on OSX
