Getting severe frostbite would mean that you would lose that limb but if it was burnt it would just be fucked up.

They're more of less the same process just one with extreme cold the other with extreme heat. Freezing is a type of burning. If your one of your limbs were burnt badly enough you would loose it.

Yes cosmic but most serious skin burns can be treated with a skin graft. I'd rather have badass scars than no limbs.

Getting frostbite and getting burned is pretty much the same thing, same side effects but one is from cold and one is from hot, I know, I have severe both.

I heard somewhere that being that cold somehow tricks your brain into feeling at peace... You kind of forget about everything... If I'm gonna die/lose a limb, I'd rather be "happy" and distracted than in incredible pain and distress

A 3rd degree burn would not hurt as bad as it sounds, since a 3rd degree burn actually fries the pain receptors in the affected area - you would only be able to feel the pain in the area sorrounding the 3rd degree burn where a less severe 2nd degree burn will most like be present, depending on the type of burn. A burn by flame will most likely result in such, however a scalding burn or chemical burn will only burn the directly affected area and not the sorrounding area. Depending on the size and position of the burn, however, you would need a skin transplant to be able to heal properly. Long story short, you would actually feel less pain by getting severely burned than getting a frostbite - however the two cases are awfully and surprisingly similar processes. One resulting in loss of tissue and the other in necrosis/cell death.

I've had frostbite and even after it heals you still have to live with it. The area you had frostbite in will react severely to temperature changes. In cold weather it will hurt and feel like its frost bitten again. And it's extremely sensitive to heat. When I take showers my feet turn bright red and feel like they're burning. I'd rather just be burnt, heal and have a scar.

Burns heal. Frostbite doesn't. Frostnip does heal but frostbite cannot be reverted back to frostnip. With burns, healing is naturally or surgically possible
