3rd degree burns don't hurt until afterwards, because the nerves are completely destroyed. Survivors do say that recovery is extremely painful, but with this, it's kind of a non-issue.
The question here seems to be more occupational. Would you rather face the fate of a firefighter or a sailor? Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me, we pillage, we plunder, we rifle, and loot, drink up, me 'earties, yo ho!
If you are going to burn to death, you can breath in the smoke so you pass-out and then die painlessly :D
Drowning, in my opinion, is much more painful and scary :O. I've almost drowned before, HORRIBLE experience.
drowning is apparently soothing; like a dream. i'd rather that than screaming as my flesh is scorching. plus, i think the coolness of a pool would be sort of relaxing as you died..
rxcjack
I think drowning would be a lot less painful.

If you have ever been burned really bad, like 3rd degree, there is no question. Unfortunately, I know from personal experience.

you burn until your nerves are done. the burning sensation that comes with drowning would be far worse (imo) than any flame

My brother almost drowned...we found him unconscious at the bottom of the pool...so I've had bad experiences in that area.
kimi13wercia
@babalooskies so you died already? And - I took a breath underwater once (very smart, I know) and I think it'd be quicker to go that way 0_0

I only want to be burnt at the stake accused of witchcraft and heresy. It would be cool to make scene.
River_Song
your lungs are crushed with drowning. You'd pass out from smoke before there was that much pain.
Steven Bleile
depends on the situation with the fire
Keelman122
Burning to death is the most painfull way to die..... so i would rather have my longs filled with liquid thanks :D

If the fire is hot enough you don't feel anything
Dakota
You'd have to be retarded if you think drowning is the better choice.
insertrandomnamehere
Technically, you can't drown because when you're almost out of air you go unconscious and then you float back up XD
Tom Turnbull
Id actually rather drown in water where the top of the water is on fire
