Man, whoever wrote this one is a racist bitch. I'm muslim and i am like any other american. There is no fucking difference between an atheist and a muslim. The writer can go fuck himself.

    • 13

      Anastasia

Wait, no difference between an atheist and a muslim? That isn´´t true at all.. You know, muslims believe in god and atheists don´t. Now, I think both muslims and atheists and everyone else has rights and that no one is worth more than the other but still, being an atheist means yuóu have no religion. What´s weird is that only twenty percent answered they wanted to be muslim. Huh? Weird... or just racist, there´´s nothing wrong with being a muslim.

    • 7

      Bobert577

I agreed until you said there's no difference between an athiest and a muslim. I just chose Athiesm because I'm tired of how religions have ridiculous ceremonies and fight each other over nothing. I'm referring to every religion, not just Islam.

Christians in the south think that you're likely to go blow up a building for your religion but that I, having no moral compass, could commit mass murder for fun...so that's true, there is very little difference.

      ... I don't think you understand that Muslim isn't a race.

    • 2

      Elenadearest

I don't think you understand the question. Both being a Muslim, and being an Atheist, get you hated in America. Because Americans don't like things that are different and not in line with their beliefs. The question is not racist at all. It's asking which group that gets a bunch of hate would you rather be in.

  • 20

    GareBear

Everyone is kind of freaking out in the comments and saying the writer is racist. First of all, it's theism vs atheism. Race plays no role here. Second of all, he's asking because each one is hated in America. Both of these groups of people are vehemently despised, and he's asking which vehemently despised group you'd rather be a part of. Jump to conclusions more, please.

I wonder when America will get over this obsession with religion. I mean, try reading the Bible. Do you really believe that stuff? Everything starts making a lot of sense once you accept this particular god is exactly as made up as all the other thousands of gods.

i agreed by mistake :(. but thats rude and disrespectful to say. Assuming you are atheist i just have to say that being atheist doesnt mean bashing on other peoples beliefs. I believe in god and i would never say that about an atheist because i know its not true and i see why they dont believe. And even if you dont understand why people believe in god its still a horrible comment.

    • 0

      Jacob

It's true that many atheists keep quiet about people's religious beliefs. I however bash on people's religious beliefs because I think religion is an enormous problem in many places (Iran, USA, Saudi-Arabia, Israel/Palestine etc.). There is suffering, mass killing, oppression of minorities and suppression of scientific development happening on a great scale because people believe in things that are obviously and demonstrably wrong. It is my duty, and the duty of anyone with reason and an interest in the world around her/him to speak out against this. I invite you to watch this rather entertaining video which deals with the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnbXlkNavwo

I was born a Muslim and I believe religion was invented for a reason. A subtle reason of course, but still a human need to bring people from common backgrounds together. Christmas for example, is a way of life, whether you believe Jesus is the son of God or not. Likewise, we Muslims have our festivals that bring the people in our community together and we are the most populous religion on the planet. Most of the Muslims I know drink and do "haram" stuff. Like people don't really care about religious rules anymore. I do not believe in a personal God but I respect (almost) every religious just as much. The question itself is very bigoted. I am only Muslim because I was born a Muslim and brought up to be one. So I will keep it for now. But all else being neutral, there is no need for religion. We might as well invent the mighty invisible flying spaghetti monster God.

I would choose muslim to show my support, but I don't know enough about the religon to choose it. I know more about atheism, so I chose it. I think this is an interesting question, and I feel that if "muslim" was exchanged with "christian", atheist would still get majority vote, though whether the ratio remains similar, I don't know

I'm an atheist anyway, and I am not very open-minded but I do respect and understand religious viewpoints and don't try to belittle religious people and tell them they are wrong like most atheists seem to do. But at the same time it's really annoying when a religious person tries to do it to me.
