A truly hard question as I have large pupils so staring at the sun would be even worse for me than the average person. I would probably risk blindness however, I feel as if the damages of scalding water would be worse.

Hey bud, you're forgetting about sunglasses. Or a blindfold. It just said to stare at it. Not into it. You could completely shield your eyes while facing it directly. Wear a welding face shield or something. Also, I would eat your eyes. Your eyes would literally be toast? Would you be offended or touched that I brought butter? Yes, but it's scalding water either way. Every sip would always be scalding, so unless you plan on taking a sip every few weeks, then you're dead. If we go by your logic, then all I have to do is quickly glance at the sun once a day.

Well, think logically. Water, no matter how hot, can only reach 100 degrees celcius, which is friggin' hot, but if you were to stare at the sun for that long, you would have permanent eyes damage, and probably be blind. I'd rather be able to see than talk.

Scalding water isn't hotter than your stomach acid and your digestive system is protected by mucus. Staring at the sun for two minutes could cause long term, if not, permanent damage to your eyes.
